To Have

The verb wée (VS) can either mean "to be" or "to have."  This lesson will cover the verb "to have."

Possessive Suffix
The suffix "–nim" marks either possession or the subject performing a verb action.  There are many forms that this suffix can take depending on what stem it is attached to.  In this lesson we will only focus on the personal pronouns.
Pronouns
'íin : I
('íim) 'ée :  You
'ipí : He/She
núun : We (exclusive)
('imé) 'éetx : You (pl) 
'imé : They (pl)
​Possessive Pronouns
'íinim : Mine
'imím : Yours
'ipním : His/Hers
núunim : Ours
'iméem 'éetx : Yours (pl)
'iméem : Their (pl)
Conjugating "To Have"
The following is the conjugation of the verb ​wée (VS) to show possession:
'íinim wées : I have
'imím 'ée wées : You have
'ipním 'úus : He/She has
núunim wisíix : We (exclusive) have
'iméem 'éetx wisíix : You (pl) have
'iméem 'ewsíix : They (pl) have
The verbs for 1st person and 2nd person possession are the same as the verb "to be."  The difference is in the pronouns.  The 3rd person forms of the verb have changed.
​Compare the following sentences:
'íin wées tá'c. : I am good.
'íinim wées timáanit. :  I have an apple.

'ipí híiwes tá'c. :  He/She is good.
'ipním 'úus timáanit. :  He/She has an apple.
